Texas won its first SEC Tournament title Saturday in Lexington, beating No. 3 Alabama 7-1 at John Cropp Stadium.

Teagan Kavan went the distance with 12 strikeouts — one shy of her season high. Katie Stewart, the 2026 SEC Player of the Year, went 3-for-5 with a solo homer (her 25th) and two RBI.

The Longhorns improved to 42-10, won their fourth straight against a top-13 opponent, and locked up an automatic NCAA berth. The bracket run included Ole Miss, Georgia, and Alabama twice — Texas’ first SEC tournament crown since 2005 and the first under Mike White.

Two weeks later they’d repeat as national champions in Oklahoma City. In Lexington, the headline was simpler: Texas owned SEC postseason weekend.
