Preseason All-America lists are guesses in a nicer font. Still, Walter Camp’s 2026 teams gave Texas more names than any other FBS program.
Five Longhorns made the cut. Arch Manning, Trevor Goosby, Colin Simmons, and Rasheem Biles were first-team picks; receiver Cam Coleman landed on the second team.
Goosby is the blind-side anchor for a quarterback who threw for 3,163 yards and 37 touchdowns last fall. Simmons started all 13 games on the edge. Biles came in from Pitt and became the defense’s centerpiece almost immediately. Manning needs no introduction. Coleman rounds out a receiving room that expects to stretch the field in Year 3 of SEC play.
Indiana and Oregon each had four selections. Georgia had three. Nobody else in the SEC matched Texas’ five.
What happens in fall camp matters more than any June list — especially on the offensive line and in a secondary that saw coaching turnover after the Citrus Bowl win over Michigan. Ohio State visits Austin on Sept. 12. That game will tell us plenty about whether these preseason nods aged well.
