The pitchers get the SportsCenter loops. Mike White’s staff got the national coaching award — again.
Mike White and assistants Pattie Ruth Taylor, Ehren Earleywine, and Kristen Zaleski were named ATEC/NFCA National Coaching Staff of the Year for the second straight season, the NFCA announced Thursday.
Texas finished 53–12, won a third consecutive 50-win season (a program first), and repeated as NCAA champions in Oklahoma City. The Horns dropped their WCWS opener to Tennessee, then won six straight elimination games — only the fifth team to lose Game 1 and still take the title.
Players collected hardware too: Teagan Kavan as two-time WCWS MOP; Katie Stewart as SEC Player of the Year; Reese Atwood and Ashton Maloney with NFCA Gold Gloves.
Several of those names are in the AUSL this summer. The coaching staff built the room that produced them.
