One night after Portland stole a game in the seventh, the Cascade did not wait that long.
Tori Vidales doubled in two runs in the first. Texas tied it in the third — Jalia Lassiter walked, Jackie Lis doubled, Leighann Goode sac fly, Rylie Boone RBI single — but Portland kept scoring and Texas kept booting it. Three Volts errors led to unearned runs. NiJaree Canady took the loss in 3.1 innings.
Lassiter homered in the seventh for her second of the year. Lis had another double. Five hits total was never going to be enough.
Portland clinched the series 6-3. One game left Sunday.
